NetEase refused to renew the agreement on the publication of Blizzard games in China

Blizzard Entertainment wrote on Weibo that it tried to extend the agreement with NetEase for another six months, but without success.

The creator of World of Warcraft added that he continues to look for a new partner who will undertake the publication of most of his games in China. A week ago, an insider Lao Dao (老刀舅舅) reported that Blizzard is now choosing between two publishers. Potential candidates included Tencent, ByteDance, Alibaba Group and Perfect World.

Recall that the agreement between Blizzard and NetEase will expire on January 23. The only Blizzard game that will continue to work in China after this date is Diablo Immortal. It is also published by NetEase, but under a different agreement.
