Sony: PlayStation Network earned $14 billion in fiscal 2021
Sony is great at making money on subscriptions. This conclusion can be reached, judging by the presentation from the last public strategic meeting of the company.
In twelve months, she earned more than $14 billion on the PlayStation Network (with its MAU of 100 million people). This is almost twice as much as the service collected from users in fiscal 2017.
For understanding, for the entire calendar year 2021, Microsoft’s Xbox division earned a total of $16 billion. This is taking into account the sale of consoles and accessories for them.
By the way, a year earlier, Sean Leydon, the former head of Sony Interactive Entertainment America, stated that Microsoft’s Game Pass will not be able to pay for the development of $120 million games until its audience reaches 500 million users.
