Steam has resumed payments for developers from Russia
Developers from Russia were given back the opportunity to receive payments from Steam. Yesterday, the administration of the platform sent a system message with instructions for the updated payment system.
Now, in addition to the data of the main bank, developers will need to enter information about a foreign intermediary bank. Its SWIFT code, name, country, locality and address will be required.
Developers will be able to get this information at the branch of the main bank. However, the Steam administration stressed that it will not be able to send payments to recipients or banks that have fallen under sanctions (such as VTB, Sberbank, Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank, Sovcombank or Otkritie).
Updated payment information must be entered before April 24. Then developers will be able to receive all unpaid amounts earned before March 31, already this month. In case of delay, payment according to the updated information will take place at the end of May.
The changes are relevant both for Steamworks partners and for Steam Workshop users.
Also in his Twitter account, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine announced that payments to Ukrainian developers had been resumed since yesterday. He thanked Valve and Steam for this.
Payments are still not transferred to developers from Belarus.
Recall that on March 18, Steam stopped payments to developers from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. In the system message, they were asked to “correct the banking information as soon as possible.”
