META Publishing postponed the Maslenitsa Festival indefinitely after the start of [Roskomnadzor] with Ukraine

Pancake Week festival for developers from the CIS will not take place next week. META Publishing made the decision to postpone the event indefinitely due to the beginning of [Roskomnadzor] with Ukraine. Now the company is resolving the issue with representatives of GOG and Steam.

In an appeal to the participants, META Publishing stated that it was not ready to completely cancel the event. The organizers of Pancake Week Festival noted that they have no right to substitute games and many years of work of developers “under the blow of circumstances.”

The company also assured that it will try to solve all organizational issues centrally — so that participants do not have to change anything in the Steam affiliate program themselves.

“The number of participants is almost three times more than last year, and this is good news. We are sincerely grateful to everyone and hope that the transfer will not affect the mood and faith of the participants from the festival,” Grabelnikov said.

Pancake Week 2022 was supposed to take place from February 28 to March 6. META Publishing noted that the festival will definitely take place, but later. Now the company is working with the sites to agree on a new date.

Grabelnikov separately thanked all the participants and the team that had been working on the organization of the festival for three months. At the same time, Steam and GOG have already confirmed that in the end they will still provide the full amount of promotion for the new dates.

Pancake Week is a sale organized for the first time by META Publishing in March last year. Over 250 games and add-ons from developers from the CIS and Eastern Europe took part in it. According to the company, during the first festival, the total number of visits to the sale page approached 4 million.
