The story of the confrontation between Apple and Epic Games unfolds at lightning speed. First, in the iOS version of Fortnite, it becomes possible to pay for content directly to developers. After that, Apple immediately removes Fortnite from the App Store. Epic Games immediately sues Apple.

The case, which went to the District Court of the Northern District of California, has 65 pages. In it, Epic Games accuses Apple of implementing a monopoly policy regarding mobile applications and payment methods in them.

According to the company’s lawyer, the goal of Epic Games is to put an end to “unfair and anticompetitive actions by Apple, which it is taking to maintain its monopoly on the iOS application market and the payment processing market in iOS applications.”

It also says that Epic is not interested in any financial compensation. On the contrary, “the company wants fair competition in these markets, competition that will affect hundreds of millions of consumers and tens of thousands, if not more, of third-party application developers.”
