Fallout 76, Rage 2 and other games from Bethesda will appear on Steam

One of the largest publishers will return to Steam. Bethesda refused to distribute its PC titles exclusively through the launcher Bethesda.net . Yesterday, she announced on Twitter that DOOM: Eternal, Rage 2, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and the VR game Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot will be added to Steam as they are released.

Bethesda also announced the appearance of the multiplayer Fallout 76 in the store. Recall that it was with her that the boycott of the Valve store by the company began. She did not specify when exactly Fallout 76 will get to Steam.

Bethesda’s rejection of Steam last year probably demonstrated its desire to attract players to its own launcher. In addition, Steam charges publishers 30% of revenue, which caused many of them to leave.

But after the story with the Epic Games Store and the luring of titles from Steam, the audience is reacting worse and worse to the word “exclusive”. It is not known whether the return of Bethesda to Steam is connected with this. However, this announcement sounded very timely.

Let’s add that the distribution platform from Bethesda needed a strong title that attracted players. The publisher probably hoped that Fallout 76 would be such a bestseller. But the game failed, and with it Bethesda’s plans to promote the launcher at the expense of Fallout 76.
