The total revenue of developers from leading mobile stores in 2016 in Russia amounted to $ 300 million. It is expected to exceed $400 million by 2021.
UPDATED: App Annie clarified in a conversation with us that we are not talking about turnover, but about how much developers have earned from Russian stores. I.e., the figures are given after deducting the market share of 30%. In accordance with this data, we have changed the news.
This is reported in a Russian-language press release by the analytical company App Annie.
By the way, in the world in 2016, 81% of the revenue of mobile stores came from games. Extrapolating these data to the Russian segment, it can be assumed that developers earned about $243 million from the mobile games market in Russia.
Among European countries last year, Russia also ranked first in the number of downloads and fifth among all countries of the world, second only to the United States, China, India and Brazil.
By 2021, it is expected that the number of downloads generated by Russia will reach the 8 billion mark (for all time). For comparison, by this point India will “download” 23 billion applications.
Global downloads in mobile app stores in 2021 will exceed 352 billion, and user spending will amount to $139 billion.
