The debut project of the popular flash/HTML5 platform was ported from the mobile platform Slashy Hero from The Gentlebros and General Arcade. Next month, Kongregate is scheduled to release another mobile project on Steam — the card collectible game Spellstone from Synapse Games.

Kongregate explains the transition to the PC edition with the continuation of business diversification aimed at the transition to a multiplatform distribution of games.

“Players have such a huge choice — from mobile platforms to consoles and PCs. Moreover, according to a recent survey, about 70% of our audience plays on multiple platforms,” Emily Greer, president and co—founder of Kongregate, comments on the event.

Emily explains adding Steam to her publishing interests by saying that it will help the company support “even more indie developers.”

As part of this announcement, Kongregate announced a new SDK that allows developers to get metrics on their projects for all projects, and also saves user progress.

Kongregate has become popular as a site with simple web games. Since its foundation in 2006, it has published more than 100 thousand preocts. In 2010, the company founded by the Greer sisters was acquired by a major American retailer GameStop, whose revenue, according to CNN Money, for 2016 will be $ 9.6 billion.

The Gentlebros is a Singaporean studio whose only released game at the moment is Slashy Hero. On mobile, the project was free, but on Steam it is sold for more than $ 5. The studio’s next game will be Cat Quest.

General Arcade specializes in ports. Since its foundation in 2008, it has managed to be noted for the transfer of Shadow Warrior to iOS, the HD reissue of “Pestilence.Utopia” and adaptation of “Blitzkrieg” for GOG.com . The studio not only rewrote Slashy Hero for PC, but also changed its in-game economy.
