The App Store has removed VK Group games and apps. The hits of Hustle Castle and Rush Royale are no longer available to download
Games and apps hosted from accounts are no longer available for installation on iOS VK.com and MY.com . The blocking did not affect programs associated with other accounts.
Last night, a number of publications noted that several applications of the Russian holding company had disappeared from access. In particular, the Rosetked news site stated that the VKontakte social network could no longer be downloaded on iOS, and the Durov Code resource drew attention to the fact that VK Music and VK Messenger from VK Group were also missing.
To date, not a single application previously published under the company’s main account can be found in the App Store, including the sound assistant “Marusya”, the Cloud data storage service, as well as the entire set of solutions affiliated with the social network (for example, VK Play).
Games previously assigned to the account have also disappeared from public access My.com (it previously published most of the games of My.Games, the gaming division of the company). There are no more hits in the App Store catalogs, including such hits as Hustle Castle and Rush Royale. Also we didn’t find Love Choice, Zero City, Bombastic Brothers, American Dad! Apocalypse Soon and many other old games of the company.
“VK confirms that Apple has blocked several of the company’s apps, at the moment they are not available in the App Store. The company has sent a request for clarification to Apple. VK services installed on users’ smartphones continue to work as usual,” Medusa reports (the resource is recognized as a non—resident) with reference to the holding’s press service.
Important: A number of mobile blockbusters previously associated with VK Group are still in the store. They are united by the fact that they are listed for another account – Upwake.me . This also applies to such box office hits as War Robots, Left to Survive, Tacticool, Grand Hotel Mania, Evolution 2 and HAWK.
Upwake.me — this is a private Cypriot company with offices in Amsterdam and Dubai. She has a website according to which she publishes games for mobile platforms, PCs and consoles. There is no public information about this, but it is obvious that in some moments she is the legal successor of My.Games.
By the way, Odnoklassniki continues to work on a similar principle, Maps.me and ICQ. All applications are listed for other accounts (for Odnoklassniki, Stolmo and ICQ, respectively). And all these apps are still available for download from the App Store.
Most media believe that the blocking of applications may be related to the new management of the holding. Since December 2021, VK Group has been headed by Vladimir Kiriyenko, the son of Deputy head of the Presidential administration Sergei Kiriyenko. Vladimir was included in the sanctions list of the US Treasury on February 22.
On Google Play Apps VK.com and MY.com while they remain available.
