Purchased old games began to return to the App Store purchase history

The story of apps purchased/downloaded by users, but no longer supported by developers, disappearing from the purchase history continues.

When we wrote two days ago that Apple had started removing previously purchased games from the purchase history, we did not believe in the continuation of the story.

Especially considering the fact that a similar policy to one of the Western resources was confirmed by a source at Apple, which, we recall, in general, is not very generous with official announcements.

However, less than a day has passed, and the situation has developed.

After Apple’s European PR team told PocketGamer that “if [developers] remove their apps from the store, they cannot be re-downloaded [by users] until they reappear in the App Store,” the Touch Arcade gaming blog also received a similar response on Twitter, reducing to the fact that Apple started working this way for certain reasons.

Then the situation began to take an unexpected turn.

First, the last Twitter post was deleted.

Secondly, a representative of Apple’s American PR team replied that the company had not made any changes in the policy regarding the download history.

Thirdly, previously disappeared products began to return to the same purchase history. Not all, as our Western colleagues write, but many.

In other words, it is still difficult to call the situation unambiguous. We, in turn, note that no team can remove the game completely from the App Store admin panel on their own.

As far as we know, until recently, the deletion occurred as follows: the developer simply removed the “jackdaws” from all regions. If for six months he did not change anything in the removed application, it disappeared from his admin panel.
