Google Play has increased the limit on the size of the application to 100 MB
From now on, Android users receive a warning about the large size of the application only if the APK file weighs more than 100 MB.
Earlier, namely until September 28, the Android OS warned the user about this if the size of the distribution was more than 50 MB.
Google explains the changes made by the desire to support “a growing number of developers who create heavier applications and games.”
However, despite the increase in the limit, Google asks developers not to make applications large, since the data transfer rate varies significantly from region to region, many mobile operators give a limited number of megabytes per month to users, and mobile devices have a limited amount of memory.
However, we all know perfectly well that most developers are not confused by this. Games are getting heavier, and today it is not uncommon for a game weighing about 1 GB. Moreover, sometimes there are those whose size reaches about 2 GB.
