Because of promo codes, Monster Strike was removed from the App Store

Apple on Saturday removed the Japanese hit Monster Strike from the App Store. On Sunday, the game was returned to the store.

According to unconfirmed information, the reason for the deletion is a violation of 11.3 (purchase of physical goods or goods and services used outside the app) or 11.2 (use of external systems for in-app purchases) of the App Store rules clause.

The author of the game, the company Mixi, used serial codes in the game. With their help, it was possible to buy certain items without resorting to IAP, which caused a reaction from Apple. This assumption was made by an invited expert for the Venturebeat resource.

Let’s add that the authors of Monster Strike posted a post on the official blog of the project. It says the following: “the use of codes has been suspended, so users think that this is the reason for removing the game from the store.” Thus, Mixi does not refute or confirm the existing information.

The Monster Strike title, along with the Puzzle & Dragons game, leads sales on the Japanese mobile games market. Analyst Serkan Toto believes that these two projects account for 70-80% of revenues in the local market.
