Supercell is launching an initiative that offers grants ranging from $20,000 to $200,000, targeting Africa-based game development studios. The funding will be provided without requiring equity.

The Supercell Developer Grants program is available to all studios, regardless of their platform, genre, or business model. Companies will maintain ownership of their projects and intellectual properties without any acquisition or control from Supercell.

Eligibility for this program requires applicant studios to be legally recognized entities, primarily operating in Africa with the majority of their team. Independent developers do not qualify for these grants.

Prior investments or grants do not influence a studio's eligibility. The selection criteria include the abilities of the core team, the artistic vision of the project, and evidence of engaging with a community.

Supercell is particularly interested in studios that show promise in enhancing the broader gaming ecosystem and have a strategic approach to leveraging the funding for expansion.

Applications for the initial phase are welcomed until August 9, 2026. Supercell will assess applications from August to October 2026 and inform the successful candidates by the end of that period. The grant funds will be allocated starting in December.

Supercell expressed enthusiasm for the unique creative potential emanating from Africa, believing it will significantly impact the future landscape of gaming worldwide. This program aims to support outstanding developers and nurture the emerging gaming ecosystem while gaining insights from these innovative teams.
