Mellow, a remote staffing platform, has introduced a new support initiative for independent professionals

Mellow, a platform specializing in contractor management, has introduced a new initiative aimed at assisting independent developers in cutting operational expenses.

Named the Indie Launchpad, Mellow's program offers a comprehensive Contractor Management platform encompassing services such as hiring, contractual arrangements, legal documentation, and invoicing.

The initiative provides indie studios with six months of complete access, empowering them to "hire and work with remote talent in over 100 countries globally."

Designed for nascent studios with up to 15 personnel involved in desktop, mobile, and web development, the program aims to bolster up to 50 indie studios with application submissions being accepted until 2026. The full access costs a "symbolic $1 per contractor monthly to cover legal formalities."

Developers interested in participating can apply here.

According to Mellow's internal analysis, operational overhead constitutes 5% to 15% of a studio's budget. They also observed that the manual management of contractors incurs 100 to 300 hours and $5,000 to $15,000 per quarter in administrative expenses for indie studios.

Mellow's VP of Growth, Alexander Norovyatkin, remarked, "We have closely collaborated with numerous indie studios and witnessed the considerable financial strain they endure. The challenging market conditions elevate these pressures." He added, "Although we cannot change market fluctuations, we can create a secure environment for studios to manage their teams, remove paperwork, and cut down administrative costs. Our aim is to allocate resources for what truly matters: crafting new worlds."
