Spawn Point, a newly established accelerator, has been introduced in Trondheim, Norway, and has already begun working with its first group of game studios.

The initiative aims to assist new independent developers by offering mentorship, expert insights, and networking opportunities within the gaming sector.

Supported almost entirely by public funds for its two-year trial phase, Spawn Point has extended its resources to five different studios: Lugn Games, Tooth Games, Shadowfay Games, Graybox Software, and HiPhi Games.

Since last October, the participating studios have been engaged in monthly workshops and sessions hosted by industry authorities such as Dragon Snacks Games CEO Jen MacLean, Raw Fury CMO Susie McBeth, Joystiq Ventures' Ivan Carillo, and Amazon Games' head of product Jon Grande.

Linn Søvig, the project manager for Spawn Point, explained, "We initiated Spawn Point because, while Norwegian developers possess remarkable talent, there is a need for stronger support systems to sustain them through various industry challenges."

Søvig added that Spawn Point is designed to re-energize developers, push them to reevaluate their plans, and provide market-focused feedback. Whether refining a current game or shifting towards service-oriented projects, the goal is to aid developers in making strategic decisions.
