Toadman Interactive, a support studio for Helldivers 2, is set to close its offices in Sweden and Norway
Toadman Interactive, known for both its original projects and work-for-hire roles, is shuttering its locations in Stockholm, Visby, and Oslo. Some of the roles at the developer's Berlin branch are also under threat.
The studio shared through a LinkedIn statement: "The last year has been challenging like it has been for many in the gaming industry. Consequently, we have decided to close our Stockholm, Visby, and Oslo offices, as well as reduce staff in Berlin."
The company encouraged those hiring in the gaming sector to contact them for connecting with their capable staff.
As reported by Game Developer, Toadman, which participated in developing Helldivers 2, Dead Island 2, and Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, had 111 employees by June 2024. The exact number impacted by these layoffs has not been disclosed.
According to a recent financial report by parent company Enad Global (EG7), Toadman's game EvilVEvil did not meet expectations in July, reflected in its underwhelming reception and sales.
Additionally, reports earlier today indicated that Ballistic Moon, the studio behind the Until Dawn Remake, has also cut at least 11 positions, though the total number affected remains unspecified.
