CD PROJEKT RED developers: the role of Quantic Labs in testing was minimal
Over the weekend, the story spread that Cyberpunk 2077 came out raw due to an unscrupulous QA contractor, Quantic Labs. They say that she did a bad job with testing the game, deceived the leadership of the Polish studio and, in general, let the developers down.
YouTube blogger LegacyKillaHD spoke on anonymous terms with a number of CD PROJEKT RED employees about this. The developers claim that this story has nothing to do with reality.
According to them:
they were aware of the bugs that users then complained about, the team had no illusions about the state of the game, the problem was that they didn’t have time to fix them;
key aspects of the game and engine were tested inside the studio, complex bugs required close interaction with the development team;
The role of Quantic Labs in QA was minimal, including due to internal problems with CD PROJEKT RED management;
The management was also aware of the number of bugs and problems at the time of the game’s release, to say that Quantic Labs misled him is —ridiculous”.
