Ubisoft rewards players for detecting bugs. So far only in Rainbow Six Siege
Ubisoft has announced the Bug Hunter Program in the Rainbow Six Siege team shooter. As part of this initiative, users receive in-game content for detecting errors inside the game.
The program is based on the R6Fix service launched last year. The latter allows players to report bugs and shortcomings of the game in a format convenient for them and developers.
Bug Hunter Program works very simply.
- The user finds the error, writes its description, takes a screenshot and sends it all to Ubisoft via R6Fix.
- Then the testing department checks the information. If there really is a bug, Ubisoft testers note that the message is “Confirmed”.
- A few such confirmations and the player receives some game content.
The reward goes only to the one who first discovered this or that bug.
Now the system is still being introduced. Therefore, there is only one reward and it is given for only three detected errors. However, the developers promise to add more goals and rewards for their implementation.
The solution is elegant and designed to stimulate the activity of the gaming community. However, Ubisoft does not have to complain here. Since the launch of R6Fix, the company has received more than 7000 user error messages.
