Android Games to earn $3.6 billion in China
Total revenue from mobile games in China will reach $6.5 billion in 2015. Of these, $3.6 billion will be accounted for by games for Android devices, and $2.3 billion will be accounted for by iOS. This is reported in the Newzoo study.
Google Play, like a number of other Google services, is banned in China, so developers distribute their games through third-party stores. According to Newzoo forecasts, games for Android devices will earn more than a billion more than iOS.
However, the dynamics may change.
There are 257 million active iOS devices in China as of the end of May 2015. This puts Apple in first place in sales among branded devices.
The leader among the devices is the latest iPhone model – the “six”. It has overtaken the iPhone 5s in terms of frequency of use.
Summing up his research, Newzoo notes: the Chinese gaming market with its total $6.5 billion in revenue in 2015 will come out on top in the world, overtaking the leader of last year – the United States.
