Sony has launched a crowdfunding platform "for its own"
The Japanese corporation Sony has announced the launch of the crowdfunding platform First Flight. The goal of the project is to promote new business ideas of the company’s employees.
The platform works in the same way as other crowdfunding systems. It allows you to raise funds for the project even before the start of production and at the same time assess the size of the target audience and the availability of demand.
There are already three projects on the First Flight website. These are MESH Smart switches, which the user is invited to assemble himself, a FES Watch made of electronic paper and a universal HUIS Remote Controller. The latter has already collected the amount necessary to launch the project into production.

Only Japanese residents will be able to support business ideas financially and buy the resulting products so far.
It is unclear how Sony will interact with the projects after the launch. The corporation did not say whether it would receive a percentage of the money raised and whether it would support the most successful projects.
Let’s add that the launch of a crowdfunding platform is probably aimed at returning Sony’s profitability. The Forbes publication, with reference to its own information, writes that “the company has not been creating anything for a long time and does not get out of losses.”
