Supercell will close the new Smash Land game
The Smash Land game did not pass the softlonch stage. The new Supercell project will be closed on September 1, 2015.
A message about the upcoming closure of the project appeared on the Smash Land forum. Users saw it directly during the launch of the game. Starting from July 1, it will be impossible to make an in-game payment in the project. Support for the project will be completely canceled on September 1.
Notification of the closure of the Smash Land game
“Despite the popularity and positive feedback from players, the project has not reached the bar set by our other games,” Supercell representatives report on the project forum.
The studio is not going to support the title “for the sake of the process”.
Smash Land was released on March 31, 2015. The game was in a trial run, it could only be downloaded in stores in Canada and Australia. The title was an attempt to adapt the gameplay of the Japanese hit Monster Strike for the Western market.
Recall that Smash Land is already the second project that Supercell closed at the trial launch stage. The first was a match-3 released in early December called Spooky Pop about ghostbusters. Supercell refused to support the project in February 2015.
