Jeff Vogel returns his Avernum 2 game to iOS
Founder of the indie studio Spiderweb Software Jeff Vogel (Jeff Vogel) returns to work with iOS after a high-profile departure. He announced this in his own blog.
Vogel is the owner and developer of Spiderweb Software studio. He has been creating games for Apple operating systems for more than 20 years. At the end of last April, he announced that he would no longer deal with the company.
The formal reason was the failed release of Vogel’s latest game, Avernum 2. A couple of days before the launch of the project, an updated version of the OS was released, which led to serious breakdowns in the game. Vogel said that Apple “doesn’t care” about the difficulties faced by indie developers. So he leaves.
Vogel now admits that the decision was hasty. According to him, it was caused by accumulated fatigue and health problems. The developer managed to solve them, and he is ready to return. Vogel is launching the Avernum 2 game on iOS again.
“Since I managed to convince myself that I could work again, I started fighting with the iPad again. Not for the sake of money or PR, but in order to be proud of yourself and be confident in yourself. I don’t want to run away from problems anymore,” he concludes.
