Supercell was valued at $5.5 billion
A 22.7% stake in Supercell could cost the Japanese from SoftBank about $1.2 billion, and thus the authors of Clash of Clans could be estimated at $5.5 billion.
This was reported by Venturebeat with reference to a “reliable source”. However, Supercell, SoftBank, as well as Accel and Co., which sold their stake (Index Ventures, Atomico, Institutional Venture Partners, London Venture Partners and Initial Capital – the same twenty-odd percent) refused to comment to the Western resource.
If the stated amount is fair, it turns out that the Zynga and King listed on the stock exchange are worth significantly less than the Finnish startup: $2.7 billion and $4.5 billion, respectively.
To understand the scale of these amounts, we recall, according to Superdata analysts, the total earnings of the entire mobile games industry for 2015 will be about $ 22.3 billion.
