Releases of the day - Monday (13.04.2015)
Today is Monday, which means that the working week has started again. We have two projects in the “Releases of the Day” today: Sky Punks and Spirit Lords.
Sky Punks
The Sky Punks game is the very bottom to which the publishing direction of Rovio suddenly sank overnight.
Why?
Because it is an expensive, full of content and fashionable chips product that is made by people who do not understand what games are and why it is fun.
It is difficult to explain the boredom and irritation caused by them in any other way.
I sincerely do not understand how it was possible to choose calm country music as a soundtrack for a runner aimed at a children’s audience?
I don’t understand why it was necessary to deprive (formally) almost every mission of a specific task (“dive”, “jump”, “collect points” – these are not tasks, these are recommendations)?
I don’t understand why almost every mission in the mission runner had to be done in fact infinite (after completing the task for “three stars”, the player can drive along the highway even to infinity, which forces (!) to go to collisions).
There are plenty of such incomprehensible things in the game. And everything would be understandable if Sky Punks were some kind of cheap craft, but this is a big, expensive game.
P.S. There were, in addition to the above, two more points that outraged me. The first is an air scooter, on which the main character flies, as if he is not hanging in the air, but put on rails. Be sure to compare with how the heroes stand on the boards in Subway Surfers. The second is a low—set camera. You can’t do that in runners, you can’t see the track.
P.S.S. And users like the game, it seems. There are a lot of good ratings.
Spirit Lords
After almost a year in a state of “soft launch”, Spirit Magic has reached version 1.0.
In a nutshell, the game is a very pleasant role—playing hack & slash in the Disney style.
There is a lot of Western RPG in the project (full-fledged inventory, combat in unique locations), but there is also enough from Asian ones (one or another spirit that gets from a local slot machine can be responsible for each skill of the hero; you can raise spirit levels by spending other spirits on it, to get more indoor spirits — you need to merge together available and so on).
Personally, I really liked the project, but I can’t judge whether it will earn money. In Canada, he did not reach a stable position in the box office top for a year of softlonch. Perhaps now, after the traffic has poured into it, the situation will change.
The ratings of the game, on average, are positive. Those who put 1 star complain either about the “donation”, or the brakes, or that it is difficult to play on the iPhone 5S – the game character is too small.
