Yesterday with Yulia Lebedeva, Editor-in-chief App2Top.ru , was contacted by an unknown person who introduced himself as Alex (Alex). He offered to buy access to Apple’s worldwide customer base.

According to the hacker, he has the following information at his disposal: Apple ID, contact email address, phone number, first name, last name, city, country and “other”. The letter also stated that the database is segmented by different parameters and can be used for marketing purposes.

Of course, we asked Alex to confirm. By Julia ‘s phone number , he sent the following information about her:

  • Apple ID;
  • the last four digits of the bank card and its validity period;
  • all registered devices;
  • number of contacts in the notebook;
  • list of recently installed applications;
  • information about purchases in the App Store.

After that, we asked for a few more people to be “punched” for verification, including those who live abroad. As a result, we were sent information only on one person whose account is registered in Russia.

According to the hacker, he has data on at least 10 million Russian users in his hands. As far as we know, he plans to sell the information to an interested person, but to date, the buyer has not yet been found.

Whether the hacker has access to iCloud, credit card passwords and CVC/CVV2, we don’t know yet.
