Viber has brought two games to the gaming Top 6 in Russia
At the end of February, the world release of the Viber gaming platform took place. The results were not long in coming: two of the three games presented within the framework of the platform entered the gaming Top-6 App Store in Russia.
The Viber gaming platform – Viber Games – works similarly to the Line and Kakao platforms. In the More panel, there is a line Viber Games between the items “buy stickers” and “add a new contact”. It then leads to the game showcase, which now has three game titles, which are a light alteration of two games that have long been present on the market, Team Lava and the original project from Playtika.
Viber Candy Mania (aka Candy Blast Mania) is a candy “three-in-a-row” in which the playing field occupies for some unknown reason only 2/4 of the screen, and the rest is given to secondary game elements.
Viber Pop (aka Bubble Mania) is a bubble with a cute red cat resembling Garfield in the title role. The project is visually very advantageous, but also not without problems in the UI: aiming balls in the game is inconvenient.
Wild Luck Casino – visually luxurious slots.
Only Team Lava games have entered the Russian gaming Top-6 by downloads so far – Viber Pop came in 5th place, Viber Candy Mania – in 6th position. However, they are not yet in the cash gaming Top 150. The publishers of all three titles were their developers.
As for the promotion of the showcase among users of one of the most popular messengers in Russia (only in the App Store since February 2013, the application has been consistently included in the overall Top 10 in downloads), it is more aggressive than in Asian messengers. A banner informing about the presence of a showcase can be seen on almost every screen in the Israeli messenger (although it is removed over time).
Platform games feel good not only in the Russian market. For example, on the App Store, the Viber Pop project is currently in the Top 10 (overall) downloads in 10 countries.
The launch was not without overlaps. Some users have discovered an annoying bug. When sending out automatic invitations to the game, Viber can easily add you to the ban list.
