A soft release of a two-dimensional runner about Sonic took place
Sega continues to “milk” one of its main franchises – Sonic. In Canada and Japan, the company recently released another runner about the indefatigable hedgehog – Sonic Runners.
Unlike the latest mobile projects on Sonic, which were created within the walls of the British Hardlight, this time the Japanese Sonic Team took up the project, working, among other things, on console versions of the current hedgehog.
And the Japanese spirit is clearly felt in the project. To get through to the gameplay, the player must go through a huge number of different screens. Plus, there’s a story with annoying dialogues, a collectible meta-game, an energy system, leagues, the ability to upgrade characters, and I’m sure we missed something else.
In general, Sonic Team has created what is called a product rich in free-to-play content. As for the game itself, it is an endless two-dimensional runner divided into numerous conditional sublevels, each of which ends with a boss.
