Creator of Mobile Candy Crush Saga Leaves King
Tommy Palm, the creator of the Candy Crush Saga version for mobile devices, is leaving King for his own startup.
It is already known that the new Palm company will be called Resolution Games and will specialize in “entertainment for virtual reality”. It is unclear whether the startup will limit itself to them only, or will also deal with mobile projects.
Palm joined King three years ago. The company acquired his mobile startup Fabrication Games. Shortly after, Palm was entrusted with overseeing the porting of Candy Crush to mobile platforms.
In an interview with Venturebeat, Palm said that he liked working for King, but he “really likes to create companies”, and therefore leaves.
The game Candy Crush Saga since its release on mobile has become an almost permanent leader of the world charts in downloads and grossing. The game continues to bring King a constant profit.
