Space Marshals is a new game from the creators of the Reckless Racing series
The authors of the Reckless Racing series are working on Space Marshals, an episodic top-down shooter for mobile devices.
The novelty will be the seventh in-house (not made to order) project of the Swedish studio Pixelbite and the studio’s first experience outside the arcade racing genre.
Space Marshals will unfold in the scenery of a sci-fi western, similar in spirit to such films as “Cowboys against Aliens”, “Serenity Mission” and “John Carter”. The player will act as a federal marshal, a hunter of escaped convicts.
Judging by the video, the project resembles an isometric Metal Gear, painted in the colors of Team Fortres 2. In the game, the user can not only shoot at opponents, but also sneak around, avoiding collisions, simultaneously admiring the bright, sunny picture.
We, in turn, decided to write about the project because we were impressed by its graphics. Space Marshals is one of those 3D games that don’t need to discount the platform by looking at its visual component. It looks almost on par with modern PC and console games of this genre. In order to make sure of this, it is enough to watch the video just below.
The game will be distributed according to an episodic model. Three series are planned, the first of which Pixelbite will release on January 8 next year.
Pixelbite is a small Swedish studio founded in 2009 by five developers who previously created console titles. The studio is known for the Reckless Racing series. Pixelbite creates games on its own engine – BITE Engine.
