Monsu authors are preparing a new project
Finnish studio Boomlagoon, formed by the authors of the original Angry Birds, announced work on a new game. Their latest project – an endless runner with elements of a collectible card game – in some regions was included in the selection of the best apps in the App Store in 2014.
I’m amazed at luck (is it?) some teams. Boomlagoon has two cute but questionable projects behind it: Noble Nutlings and Monsu. The first one was removed by the team itself from all the stores after the second unsuccessful launch, the second one, despite numerous problems and, to put it mildly, far from impressive results against the background of aggressive promotion in the App Store, is somehow miraculously included in the “Best of 2014” selection in some regions (in particular, in Japan).
Monsu is one of their best games of 2014, according to the Japanese edition of the App Store This is against the background of the fact that the game, when featured in 80 (!) countries on the main banner, received “only” 1 million downloads in a week, which, consider, turned out to be useless, since they did not lead to organics and good sales.
On the main market in the download charts, the game cannot be found today (App Annie)
In the box office tops of the game category, however, the situation is not so sad (App Annie)
And now it becomes known that the Boomlagoon team is expanding.
Wanting to put the production of content for Monsu on stream, the developers hired eight new employees. Now there are only 14 of them. The company also announced work on a new game. They say that visually the game will be close to Noble Nutlings and Monsu, but completely different in mechanics.
