Finnish developers will release a trilogy based on "Kalevala"
Developers from Rovio, Supercell and other Finnish game studios have teamed up to make a film based on national folklore.
The plot of the IronDanger trilogy is based on the epic "Kalevala". The first part will be released in 2017, which is when Finland will celebrate the 100th anniversary of independence.
The trailer was presented at the Slush 2014 startup event. According to the creators of IronDanger, they make it "in their free time."
"This is something like a gift for Finland's centennial,— said Peter Vesterbacka, marketing director at Rovio. "If we can make great games, why not make a great movie?"
