Midverse Studios will help novice developers

GAME

Midverse Studios is launching an initiative called Invest+Publish, through which mobile gaming companies will be able to invest in promising developers, and game studios themselves will have the opportunity to connect with popular brands.

The creators of Midverse Studios are game development veterans Rizwan Virk and Mitch Liu. Both have worked at Tapjoy in the past. According to Virk and Lew, they are going to use the accumulated experience to help gaming startups grow.

"The ecosystem of mobile games is oversaturated," Lew said. "In order for developers to reach their potential, they need help, not only financially, but also strategically [with the participation of well—known brands]. The existing mobile publishing houses cannot cope with this task."

VENTUREBEAT

To launch the program, Virk and Lew invested in two projects: the game of Thrones: Ascent from Disruptor Beam and Afterland from the studio Imaginary Games. Ascent is a social title based on the popular TV series, Afterland is a mobile card game in a carnival—mystical style.

Midverse will help both studios not only attract players, but also retain them, which is especially difficult since industry giants Supercell and King are raising prices for mobile advertising.
