Under the launch of the social racer What on Earth! collected $500 thousand
The Finnish studio TrapLight Games raised $500 thousand at the initial financing stage.
The investors were Sunstone Capital, Finnvera Venture Capital and East Wings. Several business angels have also invested, including Henrik Suuronen, president and co-founder of Nonstop Games, as well as the former head of Wooga and Digital Chokolate.
Part of the deal was the appointment of Nikolai Nyholm from Sunstone Capital to the board of Directors.
The funds received will be invested in the further development of the Traplight Games project, the What on Earth! racer, the feature of which is not only that users can communicate with each other in the game, but also in the process of creating levels, which is carried out by the players themselves.
"The first Traplight Games game rethinks the casual racer genre. The game combines engaging gameplay with social interaction and with content that users create themselves."
Let's add that the employees of Taplight Games — all 12 people — all come from studios such as Supercell and RedLynx, as well as Disney, Warners, Sega and LucasArts.
