The company announced its intention to open an office in Russia at the Igromir 2014 exhibition. The director of Ubisoft’s European direction, Alan Corre, said that “the office in Moscow is a tribute to Russian players,” because they are “not indifferent, active and devoted to their favorite games.” In addition, a representative office in the capital will help the company gain a foothold in the fast-growing Russian gaming market.

Olga Lazareva, who in the past was responsible for the development of Electronic Arts in Russia, will head the Ubisoft office in Moscow.

The representative office in Russia is far from the only Ubisoft branch outside of its native France. Over the past few years, the company has opened offices in many major cities in Europe, Asia and North America.
