Disney Tsum Tsum conquers the world
Disney together with the popular Asian messenger LINE launched a joint project. The game of the genre “three in a row” occupied the top lines of the charts. The popularity of the application forced LINE to release plush Disney Tsum Tsum characters.
In July, Disney Tsum Tsum won the prize lines of the iOS and Google Play charts. Before that, the application was available for download only in Japan, but even there it managed to take first place in downloads in the AppStore and Google Play. In terms of profitability, the game firmly holds the third place.
The success of the game inspired Japanese marketers to create plush toys – copies of Tsum Tsum characters; 1.6 million have already been sold.
Jim Masunda, head of LINE’s marketing department, believes that Disney Tsum Tsum has everything to conquer the Western market with the same ease as the Japanese.
