Activision revives Sierra
This week in Cologne, Activision is going to talk about the revival of the Sierra brand.
The company has launched a new website sierra.com where you can see the teaser and the updated brand logo. The video ends with a mention of Gamescom 2014.
That's all we know so far. It is unclear whether the company's new projects, released under the Sierra IP, will resemble the classic quests of the 80s, King's Quest and Space Quest, for example, or will become a reference to Vivendi products such as Crash Bandicoot. But, to be honest, we are leaning towards the first option. And if so, it is possible that new quest items will appear on mobile platforms.
Activision is one of the oldest video game publishers. It has been operating on the market since 1979. In 2008, it merged with Vivendi Games, which owned Blizzard, which led to the creation of Activision Blizzard. In 2013, the company bought back its shares and became independent again. Currently owns the rights to the Call of Duty and Skylanders series.
The closure and possible sale of Sierra was later announced.
