More than 280 thousand teams earn money on iOS apps in Europe

1

Apple announced the number of European developers making money from mobile apps for the App Store, and at the same time announced that they have been paid $6.5 billion since 2008.

It seems that in recent days, the "yablochniki" will experience an urgent need for news events. Maybe the fact is that they are at least a little trying to distract the Internet audience from looking at the next Chinese drain of the alleged iPhone 6 design, maybe they just don't want people not to be bored without news in August.

Yesterday, for example, Tim Cook shared on Twitter that July was the most successful month in the company's history. However, he did not share the figures. Today, Apple was pleased with another relatively high-profile press release, according to which, of the $20 billion paid to developers over the six years of the App Store's existence, a solid portion of $6.5 billion went to European developers.

To date, 280 thousand European teams (owners of accounts in the Apple paid developer program who received money from Apple) have received money from Apple. The largest number of teams in the UK is 61.1 thousand. In Germany, it is slightly less — 52.2 thousand. Most likely, the remaining 166.7 thousand teams include Russian ones.

Despite the huge figure, it must be understood that most of them, of course, are represented by 1-2 persons. Plus, in six years, some teams were disbanded, some were re-registered.

Apple also reported that to date, since 2008, more than 629,000 jobs have been created directly related to the App Store.
