Half of the revenue of the Japanese mobile games market is accounted for by GungHo

The creators of Puzzle & Dragons earned $434 million from April to May 2014. They also said that last year, more than half of the revenue of the Japanese smartphone games market came from GungHo products.

If it's in money, it's somewhere in the order of $1.53 billion (51% of $3.08 billion). This is somewhat different from the assessment of CyberZ and Seed Planning, according to which smartphone games in Japan earned as much as $5.6 billion last year.

It is clear that GungHo can count his money. But perhaps he exaggerates his role in the market of the Land of the Rising Sun.

As for the company's performance in the second quarter of 2014, its operating profit amounted to $243 million. This is 5.9% less than in the same period last year. The reduction in profits in the company is attributed to the fact that they did not raise prices for IAP after the increase in consumption tax in Japan.
