We live in the Golden Age of the mobile gaming industry

1

The other day, the official trailers of Modern Combat 5 and Overkill 3 were published. Watching them led me to a simple thought, which I have been coming to more and more often lately: We live in the Golden Age of the gaming industry.

Developers often swear at a large number of offers in stores. They can be understood, because there is not much space on the windows, there is not enough for everyone. But if you look at the situation through the eyes of the user, everything is fine.

Thousands of new games appear in mobile app stores every week. Even if we consider that most of the projects do not stand up to any criticism, every week we receive only on the App Store a selection of more than 20 high-quality projects, each of which can easily be spent at least an evening, a maximum of a couple of months.

It doesn't matter who the user is. He can be a student, a housewife, a handyman, or a mathematician. Regardless of his preferences, he can easily find a project for himself on the mobile market: quest, arcade, casual puzzle, turn-based strategy, role-playing game, action, MOBA and even MMO.

Moreover, the user can download most of these games for free. Yes, if he is interested in any of the games, if he "freezes" on a particular project, he will have to deposit money to get additional pleasure, usually associated with accelerating progress, but considering that this is not necessary at all, it's fair.

At the same time, the quality of games, their graphics, and "sensitivity" to user needs, achieved through constant data collection and making necessary corrections, grow from year to year.

All this seems to me personally amazing.

I understand that the market has many problems, I know how difficult it is today for even a good project to simply pay for itself, but it is necessary to understand that there are always problems. And the ones facing the market now are not so insurmountable, especially given the numerous success stories.

P.S. I also never tire of being surprised by the rapid improvement of graphics in mobile games. Take a look at the two screenshots below, one of them from Modern Combat 5, the second from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Where can you recognize which one, just by looking at the images?
