1 million copies of Monument Valley have been sold
Paid games on the mobile market can make money. This statement has been proved for the third month in a row by the game Monument Valley from the London studio ustwo. Recently it became known that the total sales of the game on three mobile platforms (App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore) exceeded the figure of 1 million.
According to the developers, the development of the project, which was released on the App Store in the second half of April 2014, paid off in a week (the game's authors thought it would take a year). By mid-May, the number of paid downloads on the App Store had exceeded 500 thousand. At the same time, ustwo launched the Android version of the game. However, the sales of the game on the Play Store are very far from similar ones in the "apple" store. But Amazon is showing itself well — it accounts for a third of Android sales.
At the moment, developers are creating new levels, although ustwo has not yet decided in what quality the new content will be distributed (via IAP or for free). They are also already starting to think about a full-fledged sequel, but they definitely do not plan to release it soon.
