Game Insight has published seven games in the Yandex.Store

Game Insight has announced the release of a number of projects in the Yandex.Store mobile app store.

On the virtual showcase of the latter appeared: "Airport City", "Running Shadow", "Big Business Deluxe", "Mysterious House", "Mirrors of Albion", "Natives" and "Natives and Castles".

We remind you that Yandex.Store is an alternative app store for Android. Yandex launched it in February last year. Then the company reported on the presence of more than 50 thousand applications in it. At the beginning of 2014, Yandex announced that their number had doubled in a year: now there are about 100 thousand of them. It is unknown about the user base and the number of installations that Yandex.Store is able to generate.

One of the main distribution channels of the store today are vendors who pre-install the store on their devices instead of or together with Google Play.

To find out why Game Insight needed to release its applications on a far from the most popular store, we contacted Maxim Donskikh, Vice President of Game Insight.

Whose idea was it to place applications in the Yandex.Store — yours or Yandex's?

We came up with this idea as a result of joint discussions. We are constantly looking for new distribution channels for our games, and Yandex.Store has become an interesting platform for us with good growth potential. Colleagues from Yandex, in turn, expressed interest in launching popular and user-favorite games from Game Insight.

In addition, if the developer already has a version of the game for Google Play, launching it in the Yandex.Store practically does not require labor. This was an additional argument for us to release games on this platform.

Are there any specific expectations for downloads/revenue?

We believe in the prospects of the Yandex.Store platform and want to grow with the platform.
