Nevosoft: Countries start competing for mobile developers
White Nights 2014 was opened by Pavel Ryakkonen, one of the founders and CEO of Nevosoft. He talked about the figures of the mobile industry.
- Shipments of smartphones in the first quarter of 2014 turned out to be 28.6% more than in the first quarter of last year. In total, in the first three months of this year, the total global shipments of smartphones amounted to 281 million.
- Shipments of tablets in the first quarter of 2014 increased by only 3.9% compared to the first quarter of 2013 and amounted to 50.4 million.
- By the end of this year, 1.76 billion people in the world will use smartphones. This is 25% more than last year.
- Smartphone games will earn $16 billion this year.
- Games for tablets are almost $4 billion.
Speaking about trends, Pavel noted the following: governments of a number of states are starting to compete for mobile developers today. He also gave the criteria that a developer usually relies on when choosing a location. What are these criteria?
