Opera buys AdColony for $350 million
Today it became known that the mobile advertising platform Opera Mediaworks has begun the procedure for acquiring AdColony, an advertising network specializing in video advertising.
Opera will pay $75 million in cash, the rest, as we understand it, in bonuses over several years. The amount of these bonuses may reach the $275 million mark. The deal will be closed in the third quarter of this year.
According to the terms of the agreement, AdColony CEO Will Kassoy will head the marketing department at Opera Mediaworks.
In total, Opera plans to earn $435-460 million this year. From $45 million to $50 million, according to her forecasts, will fall on the absorbed AdColony.
According to the press release, AdColony is currently working with 70% of cash mobile publishers.
