Amazon has introduced its own smartphone
The American company Amazon yesterday, June 18, introduced its own smartphone – Fire Phone.
The device is small, the corresponding screen is only 4.7 inches (however, no Full HD, the display resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels).
As Amazon founder Jeff Bezos noted at the presentation of the device: “the perfect size for one-handed use.”
Externally, the gadget resembles a compromise between the iPhone 5 and BlackBerry Z10, adjusted for the traditional design of tablets from Amazon.
Inside there is a quad-core processor running at a frequency of 2.2 Ghz (Snapdragon 800), 2 GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 video chipset, an internal storage capacity from 32 GB to 64 GB, a 13 MP main camera, a 2.1 MP front camera.
The miracle is charged via a standard Micro USB 2.0 port.
But the most interesting thing, of course, is not this, but the key features of the device.
First, parallax, which Amazon calls “dynamic perspective.” Especially for her, the company’s engineers have installed additional 4 (!) sensors in the case, which are designed to provide a “deeper” immersion. Curiously, Amazon managed to cram parallax support even into its cards.
Secondly, Firefly. This, unfortunately, is not the call of the Serenity spacecraft from the series Joss Whedon, and, in fact, extended in functional terms and integrated into the Shazam system, which allows you not only to find out what kind of music sounds from the “next window”, but also what kind of movie your friend is watching, and allows you to buy a digital version of the book / magazine you saw on the table of a friend (pointing the lens cameras on the cover, and the device starts scouring Amazon right there in search of the same one). Plus, it is possible to order a real product “by wrapper”.
And, thirdly, Mayday – video-live user support, which allows you to do fantastic things of the following plan: call support, a small square appears in the corner of your smartphone in which you see the operator, ask for help, for example, with the mute function on the device, the operator draws on your screen from his device, what you need to click to do this.
The novelty, when purchased with two-year contracts, will cost a US resident $ 199.99 (this is for a 32 GB model).
Fire Phone will go on sale on July 25.
