UK Gaming GDP - £1.02 billion
The gaming industry's contribution to UK GDP last year amounted to more than £1.02 billion, thanks to the explosive growth of the mobile market, according to the TIGA developer and publisher network.
In 2012, the final market value of the entire British video game industry was significantly less — £947 million.
According to TIGA, mobile gaming has become the main driver of growth: the explosive growth in sales of smartphones and tablets has created a significant gaming market, which immediately required the opening of appropriate jobs.
There is no data on the total GDP of the UK for the whole of 2013 yet, but, to understand the orders, in 2012 it amounted to about £1.4 trillion.
