Zynga: Right now we're picking up the leftovers of our lunch

FarmVille

In an interview with Seeking Alpha, Zynga CEO Don Mattrick admitted that at the moment his team is forced to do the obvious things, and also stated that over the past ten months he has seriously "cleaned up" the company's management team.

"Look, the fact that we didn't have (at the time) a mobile version FarmVille has created a favorable environment for the development of Hay Day. So now we're just putting everything in order, doing the obvious things. Imagine that you left your lunch box unattended in the school yard, and someone was eating it. We're just getting the leftovers now," Mattrick said.

He also noted that he had made a number of important changes in management, thoroughly shook up the management team. In fact, I created it from scratch (more on that here).

Whether all this can make Zynga one of the main players in the mobile and social entertainment market again is a big question. Currently, there are two games of the company in the American box office Top 25 — Zynga Poker Texas Holdem and FarmVille 2: Country Escape.
