The authors of Tap the Frog have released a new game
The other day, a "soft launch" of a new game by the Ukrainian studio Playfo, which developed Tap the Frog, took place. The project is called Knight Girl, it's match 3 in a medieval setting.
The key difference between Playfo's creation and the host of other match 3s that have flooded mobile stores in recent months is the interactive playing field.
Example:
There are pointer stones on the field with gems, which can be rotated with a tap. When four gems are drawn up in a row, a rocket appears, which, when activated (also by tap), flies in one of the four directions. If it hits the pointer, it is reflected from it at a degree of 90 degrees. It's not hard to guess that such a feature introduces a bit of strategy into the long-familiar mechanics.
Otherwise, it is a familiar match 3 with a playing field whose size ranges from 9x9 cells.
You can download the game so far only in Canada, Ukraine and Russia.
P.S.
To be honest, we have recently been afraid for the "three-in-a-row" genre, and we wonder if it will happen that it will burn out in six months or a year? A huge number of games with similar mechanics regularly enter the market, among them there are very high-quality projects (Knight Girl is just one of them). Perhaps some of them are paying off, but how long will it last? What will happen to the genre in a year?
