The head of the development of the Disney gaming business has left the company

Tim O'Brien, who has been vice president of global business development at Disney Games for the past three years, has joined Scopely, a company dedicated to increasing the profitability of advertising in mobile games.

At Disney, Tim was responsible for the global distribution of all the company's game projects and all advertising sales. He hosted the launch of one of the most popular Disney mobile titles — Where's My Water? And, yes, the gaming division has been in the black for the last three quarters. However, this did not prevent Disney from laying off about 700 employees last March. In other words, Tim clearly had reasons to "get off the ship."

The situation in Scopely is the opposite. The company reported that its revenues had tripled in the past year alone.

By the way, the author of the Deconstructor of Fun blog, Mikhail Katkoff, left Supercell last September for Scopely, too. However, he only worked there for 6 months. He now works at Zynga.
