Minimalistic match 3 recently celebrated its first birthday, and its developers from Playdots (the studio works as part of the Betaworks incubator) reported breaking the 20 million downloads mark.

For comparison, in the first 7 days of its existence on the market, the game gained 1 million downloads.

The creators of the game in connection with the Dots Birthday also shared the level of retention in it. According to them, the retention of Dots on the seventh day ranges from 20% to 40%. However, this is not what is more impressive. Playdots claims that 25% of users (that is, about 5 million) who have played Dots at least once still regularly return to the project.

Recall that Dots: A Game About Connecting is a variation on the Diamonds Blaze theme from Game Insight.

There is a field of 6×7 colored dots. Dots of the same color standing next to each other can be removed, earning points. The task is to score the maximum number of points in 60 seconds. Yes, the longer the bundle, the more points you can earn. Also, if you close the line by highlighting, for example, a square, you will get even more points.
