Atari: A mobile game cannot be a PC game
Atari has responded to criticism from players unhappy with the monetization of the mobile version of the RollerCoaster Tycoon amusement park construction simulator.
The game is rated 3.2 stars out of 5 in the App Store. The players are mainly dissatisfied with the "energy mechanics" of the game: construction, if you do not resort to payments, takes a very long time. At the same time, the game itself is distributed on a paid basis. The developers are asking for $2.99 for it.
Atari CEO Frédéric Chesnais, on the one hand, admitted that the team could have made a mistake. Moreover, he noted that "if necessary" Atari will make the necessary changes to the in-game economy.
At the same time, he did not fail to slap the players on the nose:
"The world was not created overnight. They (the players) rate the mobile game, and the mobile game can't be a PC game... people are going crazy that we didn't release the PC game first."
While the players are frowning, the publisher is wondering if it is necessary to pull off the same trick with micropayments in big brother on PC. Well, just in case, it reminds you that games are not only entertainment, but also business.

Atari is one of the world's oldest game console companies. It was founded in 1972 and ceased to exist in 1996. In the early noughties, the Atari trademark was bought by the French publisher Infogrames. Actually, after that, the company changed its name to the acquired one. In January last year, the American division of Atari declared bankruptcy in order to separate from the European one. Atari is currently developing and publishing small console and mobile projects.
